It's Been A While...

So I've been on a bit of a hiatus. First I went on a quick get away to visit a friend in sunny Florida (which wasn't actually that warm, but it's better than snow), and then I started a new job!!!  I'm sure everyone knows what it's like starting a new job.  It's exciting, stressul, confusing, and time consuming all at once.  I say it's time consuming because, with a new commute and a new company, it takes a while to readjust your schedule and then get used to it, and it's taken me about this long to get used to my new schedule.  So here I am! I'm back and super excited to get back to being a PR girl by day and blogger by night (or in the morning before the PR girl happens - still haven't figured that out yet).  One thing that also comes with a new job is a new desk.  A desk is like a second home.  You spend 9 hours a day 5 days a week there, and you want to make it your own.  Besides, no one likes a bland desk.  Here are some pieces I'm craving to help bring some life to my new "home".

 DIY Artificial Flowers

Just about everything from Anthropologie's Lucite Desk Collection

There's SO much more I would add to this list but you would be scrolling forever.  So let's consider this a Part I.

What I Wish I Had - Travel Edition

In a few hours from now I'll be on a plane to Florida.  I absolutely despise packing so I waited until the last minute to pack and now stores are closed and I'm stuck with what I have.  I'm only going away for four days but of course I pack for ten.  While I was packing and quickly running out of room, I thought of several items I wish I had the travel-size of, and these are several things that you wouldn't think to get before you pack and realize "Wow, this is way too big for me to bring on an airplane" - especially if you're like me and don't like checking bags due to fear of losing you're stuff forever.  So here are a few things I wish I had for this trip…hopefully you find it helpful!

This Naked pallette from sephora is probably the #1 thing I wish I had.  I can't go anywhere without my Naked pallette, but the truth is I only use the same five colors.  If I had this with me, I could easily be bringing a smaller cosmetic case.

I love this facial treatment, especially when I use it with my Clarisonic.  However, the full size is just too big for my carry-on since the size limit is 3 fl. oz. for liquids.

OH. MY. GOSH.  If I had this I could probably forget about the cosmetic case all together and just bring my makeup in my purse! (Clearly when I go away, my makeup prep isn't very extensive)

I've noticed my brush takes up a lot of room in my purse or suitcase.  I need to invest in a good quality mini travel brush to bring in it's place.  I've had mini brushed in the past, but in the battle of hair vs. mini brush, hair always won (rip mini brushes).

Bastiste is probably the best dry shampoo I have ever used and I am so upset that I can't bring my full size version on the plane.  This adorable little travel size would have been perfect! Plus I would probably use the entire thing in the four days I'll be gone.

I LOVE my new camera and obviously I want to bring it everywhere with me.  The only issue is that the only carrying case I have for it is literally a backpack, shoulder straps and all.  It's a large case because I have an extra lens attachment and it's meant to carry that as well, but for a four-day getaway I really don't need the extra lens, and this case above would be perfect for just protecting the camera.

Do I really need to explain these two? (HA!)  I think we all know how much room blowdryers and hair straighteners take up, and the travel versions would be SO much more convenient.

Hope you enjoyed the few things that I found that would help make packing much easier!

Interview Ready

I have been interviewing many places lately.  Finding a job is a long and tiring process but one of these interviews is bound to have a positive outcome!  However, I have to say that, by now, I am a interview PRO.  Ask me anything and I have the perfect answer (because I've answered it about ten times before).  I have also nailed the interview outfit.  There's not much color or creativity, but when interviewing for a position it's always better to be safe than sorry.  For example, I just got a bright pink coat yesterday that I am dying to wear, and as much as I wanted to wear it today, I couldn't bring myself to do it because what if the people I interviewed with didn't like my pink coat? Or maybe they would deem it inappropriate (but whoever says my pink coat is inappropriate is seriously disturbed [thank you Elle Woods]).  All the details for this outfit are listed below the collage!  Except for the pants, they're very old and I've had them for years - another oldie but a goodie :)

Beige Is The Name

Hey All!

So we have quite a color scheme here.  Other than black, beige is my next go-to color when I have color options.  Beige, nudes, and ivories are so elegant yet so flattering to me.  Also, I'm incredibly short so wearing beige on my feet makes me appear a little taller than black does.  I also go for similar colored tops because (when it's the right shade) I look tanner than I actually am! This is crucial to me in the winter since I'm so pale from the lack of beach days.  I threw this outfit together for my internship this morning for the sake of wearing my new J. Crew x New Balance sneakers :) I had to hunt them down and it was quite a project, but I succeeded and here they are!  The jeans are boyfriend jeans from H&M and the top is an oldie but a goodie from Nordstrom.  Remember how I said I sometimes like to buy pieces a size or two bigger?  This was one of those times.

Monday Marvels - Over-The-Knee Boots

Source: Pinterest

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great start to the week filled with coffee OR last day of the weekend filled with tons of relaxation.  I don't know about you all, but I certainly have noticed a trend in fashion this past week/weekend - over-the-knee boots.  More specifically, suede over-the-knee boots.  Now I know that we all know they have always been around and they're nothing that has never been worn before, however, they are becoming much more of a focal point in the world of fashion bloggers.  And let me tell you, I have never wanted a pair of these boots more than I did this week.  Before I buy anything, I like to look around to see how many different ways a certain piece can be worn to make sure it's worth the purchase.  Here are some looks I found on pinterest that have me convinced that these boots are worth it. Enjoy!

Gym #OOTD

Today I'm wearing one of my favorite gym outfits.  I love the super cute and flowy Lululemon top. It adds a pop of color to my mostly-black gym attire.  The leggings are high waisted (perfect for pairing with a crop top, especially in the gym) and from Marshalls!
Since it's super cold out I paired this outfit with my incredibly comfy Calvin Klein scarf.  It's not Calvin Klein Performance BUT I've found it works perfectly for both dressing up and dressing down.

P.S. Finally got a new camera!!
